ZONDIWE MBANO RETIRES

Dr Bruce Zondiwe Mbano, a renowned Malawian writer and academician, has retired from lecturing at the University of Malawi Chancellor College, after serving the institution for more than 20 years.
Mbano’s career started as a secondary school teacher in the 1970s before becoming a lecturer at Mzuzu and Blantyre TTCs and Domasi College of Education in the 1980s. Thereafter, he joined the Zomba based university in the very late 1990s.
Mbano served as the deputy head of Language and Communication Skills Department at the aforementioned institution.
The multi-award winning writer has a good number poems and short stories that have been used in the school curricula of Malawi’s secondary and tertiary education.
Unsung Song, Advanced English Language Skills Handbook and Beware Millipede are some of his most recognised works.
The 68 year old former Unima student originally comes from Mzimba District.
