The 6 Year old rising musician

The young lad caught the interest of Shire Valley Online when he was performing at Kalulu Seventh Day Adventist Church in Chikwawa during the commemoration of World children’s day and all people who attended prayers on that day were amazed with his talents.

Born on 04th August, 2016 the little one can now be able to stand in big shows shoulder to shoulder with big names like Gateway to Heaven, Adams Family, We are One and Namasilima Singers and steal the the show in the process.

Currently, the lad is on a project of recording his debut album called Yesu bwenzi langa.Speaking in an interview, his father Takondwa Mkoko, a primary school teacher at Namachila Primary School in Mountain view zone based at Bvumbwe, in Thyolo, said him and his wife Aida Namaundi Mkoko give their child a chance of recording his projects after they discovered that he is talented.

Said Mkoko: “Currently he has recorded three full pieces of music including videos, two songs were recorded at MMD Records at Bvumbwe while the other song Yesu bwenzi langa instrulmental was done in the rainbow nation, South Africa and with sponsorship we secured we managed to take him to record his third song tittled Dziko loipa at V and V media in Soche Blantyre.“

I don’t see this affecting his studies. He is currently in standard 2 at Reliable Private Primary School. Bbeing a teacher I know how best I can handle him,” said Mkoko who is also song writer and guitarist in his toddler’s projects.According to Mkoko many children fail in life because their parents force them to do what they want them to be not their inborn talent. One of the music lovers who is also director of women and children for South Malawi Conference (SMC) of Seventh day Adventist, Tendai Mambala based in Limbe, Blantyre said he started falling in love with Davie’s songs when he caught up with him at Bvumbwe and she travelled with him in various Seventh day Adventist churches in the southern region.

“I went with him in Nchalo at Kalulu during world children day but when he came to the podium everyone was excited with his powerful songs. I appeal to those who can support the kid to do. He has a bright future.“

I want also to appeal to people to pray for their little ones that God should expose their talents they bestowed in them so that we can nurture those talents.” She said.Teach a child good ways at attender age and they will not disapoint you! says the scripture; we believe this is exactly what is happening to upcoming gospel musician Davie Mkoko.
