Neno District Hospital offering one meal per day

Neno District Hospital is said to be offering only dinner to patients on treatment and in need of a minimum of three meals a day, a situation hospital officials say, has been caused by a strained resource envelope.

While other patients claim this may affect their recovery, women from different christian sects in the district on Sunday, took their time to share the gospel, food and other basic necessities to patients at the facility.

Magret Mikwamba who is the matron for the “Women of Faith” said the sermon from the book of Luke, as read on chapter 8 on verse 43, from which a story of a woman of faith was healed from perpetual illness, after touching a robe Jesus Christ wore, was a reminder to the patients not to give up while in hospital.

From her sick bed, Rute Mbingwani and her husband thanked the women for the items she has received, expressing, they will help her manage during her time in the facility, where Paediatric Ward In-charge, Cypriano Mzumara, said patients are lacking a lot, as they are now only providing dinner to the patients, hoping the gesture will make a difference.
