DOWA YOUTHS CHALLENGED TO LEAD IN CLIMATE CHANGE FIGHT

Malawian youths are challenged to take a proactive role in mitigating the devastating impacts of climate change through initiatives including embracing tree planting exercises.

Dowa District Youth Network Chairperson, Sankhulani M’mbanga made the appeal on Saturday when Mponela Youth Network in the district planted treesin Kasalika Village, Traditional Authority Mponela.
“I urge my fellow youths to not only act on the climate change but to also innovate in some other aspects of social life such as the economic circle,” said M’mbanga.
On this part, Mponela Youth Network spokesperson, Happy Mtambo described the exercise as an eye-opener to some youth networks in the district.
Meanwhile, Kasalika Village Head called on the youths to emulate and embrace the initiative as a sure way of curbing climate change crisis in the country.
Mponela Youth Network was established in 2022, and has 89 active members from different youth clubs.
